I made a few little tester apps using some of Apple’s stock code, just to see how difficult this project is going to be. While I’m still completely stumped WHY it works, at least I have something that actually loads on my phone and does what I want.
The first app is going to be called “Zoo Sounds” or something similar. The basic idea is a picture of a zoo animal which makes a sound when you tap it. There’ll be a few of them to choose from, either by swiping through pictures like with photos, or with a Next button, not sure what works best yet.
I’ve got the app working with one animal now, an elephant, and have tested it with my daughter. She seems to like it, kept her distracted when we were at a restaurant for a good minute. I figure once I get more animals on there she’ll enjoy it even longer.
Not sure when the app will be ready for release, but I’d like to get a beta out by the end of the month. Keep an eye on this blog for more details.
